Sallah: NASFAT Preaches Peace Among People

The Chief Missioner of the Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society, (NASFAT) Nigeria, Imam Abdul-Azeez Onike on Friday urged Nigerians to imbibe the culture of mutual trust, peace and sincerity to promote freedom of religion in the country.
The chief missionner, made the admonition in his Sallah message to Nigerians, as Nigerian Muslims join their counterparts globally to celebrate the 2022 eid ul adha festival.
He said that, only a peaceful co-existence of people could foster needed national harmony and development.
The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) in Lagos reports that, the message of National peace and was signed by the NASFAT Publicity Secretary, Mr Abdul-Akeem Yusuf, and made available to newsmen in Lagos.
Onike spoke against the backdrop of distrust among religious leaders recently said that, the situation of accusation and counter accusations of religious persecution and intolerance would not do the nation any good.
He cited a report contained in one of the dailies of July 4th, 2022 where one religion was painted to be a violator of peace in the country, was not in the interest of the nation.
According to him such distrust will not assist our resolve to fight our common enemy which is underdevelopment.
“As the people of faith, we are not expected to fan the ember of discord and heat-up the polity by feeding our members and the outside world with falsehood about the undoings of our society that has no link to discrimination on the basis of religion or ethnicity.
“As a people we should stand with the government that has been making effort to see that things gets much better for the common good.
“We need peace, security, love and tranquility, our Noble Prophet (saws) says, “You will not enter Paradise until you have faith and you will not have faith until you love each other. Shall I show you something that, if you did, you would love each other spread peace between yourselves,” he said.
The preacher, foresaw a good Nigerian society soon, prayed for the country and its leadership.
He advised Muslims to emulate Prophet Ibraheeem and Prophet Ismaheel in their obedience To Allah’s command, admission of their weaknesses, submission to Allah’s superiority, yielding to Allah’s greatness and patience in the face of trials, while awaiting Allah’s Mercies for us to triumph over the trials.
NAN reports that the sallah festival would be on July 9 and July 10. Meanwhile the Federal Government has announced that there would be public holidays on Monday and Tuesday to enable Nigerians time to feast.
