By The People’s Voice Nigeria News
Ecobank Nigeria has announced the fifth edition of the Adire Lagos Experience, reaffirming its commitment to promoting Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and strengthening cross-border creative partnerships across Africa.
The four-day cultural and creative showcase is scheduled to hold from June 11 to 14, 2026, at the Ecobank Pan African Centre (EPAC), Victoria Island, Lagos.
The 2026 edition, themed “Threads Across Borders,” will highlight the global relevance of Adire, a traditional Nigerian textile art, while positioning it within the broader African cultural and creative landscape. The initiative underscores Ecobank’s Pan-African vision by leveraging culture as a driver of commerce and collaboration.
According to the bank, the event will feature over 100 exhibitors, with a strong focus on Nigerian artisans and creative entrepreneurs, reinforcing the country’s status as the hub of Adire production. In a bid to promote diversity and continental exchange, 10 percent of participants will be drawn from other African countries, bringing unique textile traditions and creative insights.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Head of SMEs, Partnerships and Collaborations at Ecobank Nigeria, Omoboye Odu, emphasized the balance between preserving cultural authenticity and fostering Pan-African inclusion.
She noted that while Adire remains a distinctly Nigerian heritage, the platform creates room for collaboration with creatives from across Africa, encouraging knowledge sharing, innovation, and trade relationships that elevate African craftsmanship globally.
Beyond exhibitions, the event will feature indigenous cuisine, live African music, cultural performances, as well as curated networking sessions aimed at strengthening connections within the creative value chain, including artisans, designers, merchants, and buyers.
Ecobank also disclosed that registration for prospective exhibitors is currently open, with selected participants eligible for complimentary exhibition booths. Interested applicants are expected to complete their registration before the April 28, 2026 deadline.
Through the Adire Lagos Experience, Ecobank continues to position itself as a key driver of cultural enterprise, supporting small and medium-scale businesses while promoting Nigeria’s creative industry on a continental stage.
