A youth coach,  Mrs Dayo  Benn-Itua, on Saturday tasked Nigerian  youth on self development in order to remain relevant to the society.

 

Benn-Itua, a facilitator and resource person at a  Gospel Musical Concert organised by the Springforth Foundation at the Agape Community Anglican Church  Abijo Ibeju, Lekki Lagos asked youth to look inward and develop their talent.

 

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos reports that, the concert with theme “Joyful Praise” featured the cream of Nigerian Gospel artists that thrilled people with melodious tunes and hilarious comedies.

 

It, was in support of the physically challenged persons in the society to enable them harness their potential and not be  burden to family members and society.

 

The resource person, described youth stage as decision taking state of life, encouraged youth discard redundant life style in order to be self reliant and not being a burden to others.

 

According to her God in His wisdom deposited talents and skills to every one that can be put to use to actualise self and make meaningful impact in the society.

 

“You are created for a purpose no matter who you are physically challenged or not. Yu are not born empty.

 

“You are born with a talent, Skill, and ability to become great in life. Everyone has got the capacity and ability to be successful and create positive impact to his or her life and of those around their sphere of influence.

 

“All that is needed to make this a reality is to do the needful.  Put God first. Acknowledge that he is your creator and has a purpose for your life. Set goals.

 

“plan on how to achieve your goals, improve your talent or skill, put time frame to achieving your goals.

 

“Be discipline, diligent and determine to see that you become the best in that particular field,’ she said.

 

The coach frowned at the mental laziness of some youth that there is no job, said opportunities were many in the agribusiness sector.

 

she said that agro-produce processing and packaging for export could gainfully engage every youth in the country.She advised people to think big but start small and trust in God for the business to blossom.

 

Also speaking at the event the Founder Springforth Foundation, Mrs Blessing Agborume, said that the platform outside from empowering the physically challenged, aimed at refocusing youth to be useful to society.

 

NAN reports that participants at the event were tutored on various skills and crafts and reputation management to attract patronage.
