VALENTINE BURAIMOH DISRUPTS SWEARING CEREMONY WITH ARMED THUGS
It’s quite unfortunate that the peace relatively being enjoyed by the good people of Amuwo Odofin might be truncated through the actions of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Valentine Buraimoh.
Today, has been set aside for the swearing in ceremony of the new executives of the Local Council. This is following the list of Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers containing the names of Osho Anthonia, FolashadeAjao, Zainab Adebimpe Bello, Anthony Omolodun, Gbenga Nathaniel Akinbinu, Ameen Oba, S B. Doherty, Monsura Olaseni, Seyi Ipinlaye, Fatimo Otolorin, and Segun Adekoya.
Our observation shows that the, Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Council, Valentine Buraimoh will not swear in some of the persons (Folashade Ajao, Anthony Omolodun, and Seyi Ipinlaye) whose names are in the list for reasons not known to the public. The sad incident is that these persons are being restricted from accessing the venue for the swearing in ceremony by stern looking touts aided by security personnel ( NSCDC and Nigerian Army) engaged by Valentine Buraimoh.
Our concern is the implications of this action on the fragile security situation in Amuwo Odofin. We can recollect the crisis generated by the elections particularly the primaries that gave the All Progressives Congress ticket to Valentine Buraimoh in the 2021 local government elections. The community was consistently charged until the new State Executive Council of All Progressives Congress in Lagos State led by Hon Cornelius Ojelabi intervened.
Our investigation showed that the intervention of All Progressives Congress State Executives Council led to the recently harmonized list of Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers. The list is a reflection of the wishes of all political groups in Amuwo Odofin LGA.
We are at a loss why Hon. Valentine Buraimoh wants to swear in people whose names are not in the list prepared by the State’s Party Executives led by Hon Cornelius Ojelabi. The implications of this action are not far fetched. We hope that wisdom prevails in this situation so that there won’t be unimaginable crisis in Amuwo Odofin
