Campaign with the Blackout and Face Citizens’ Condemnation: OSAWA Warns Senatorial Aspirants Across All Political Parties.
The attention of the Ondo South Advancement & Welfare Consultative Association (OSAWA) has been drawn to the satanic, devilish, heartless and 419 campaign gimmick using the electricity blackout that has affected four local government areas out of the six local government areas of Ondo South for over fifteen years.
In a press release e-signed to People’s Voice Nigeria Online News by the OSAWA president, Adejare Oluwajuwon Ade-Aworetan, he said, “The association finds this act as an insult to our collective sensibility as this is the regular praise and worship song which has always been sung by politicians during electioneering.” We, therefore, condemn such a frivolous campaign in its totality and consequently direct all our members in all the sixty-six political wards across the senatorial district to continue bullying any aspirant in any of the political parties that uses the restoration of electricity to Ondo South as a campaign.
Enough is enough. We can’t continue on such a path. They all know what to do to bring a lasting solution to the electricity crisis.
We warn all politicians to stop trying to get cheap popularity by using the problem the masses have been facing for many years to mock them through their tagging campaign.
It’s even ideal to ask some questions: are the aspirants just waking up to the realisation of “No Light”; are they even staying within the affected areas? What contribution, impact, or concern has been shown in the past? To the best of our knowledge, humanity is not until you hold any political office before it can be displayed.
We enjoin any of our members supporting any aspirant to caution them against their insensitivity to the pleas of the citizens, which some of them have displayed at their campaign outings.
Let us assure you all that the association will take a position at the appropriate time when all political parties are through with the primaries.
We hereby use this opportunity to call on the contractor handling the electricity (Booster Station) project in Ode Enrije to complete the project in a short time and stop playing games with the NDDC. This is not a joke, but a warning.
