Dele Omosehin Emerges Winner in Collated Okitipupa/Irele APC Primary Results as Official NWC Declaration is Awaited

Collated results from the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency have placed Chief Dele Omosehin in the leading position across the two local government areas, although the official declaration by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja is still being awaited.
Results collated from the 23 wards across Okitipupa and Irele Local Government Areas show that Omosehin secured the highest number of votes among all aspirants who participated in the primary election.
According to the ward-by-ward figures obtained from both local governments, Chief Dele Omosehin recorded a total of 5,486 votes to emerge ahead of other contenders in the race. Hon. Jimmy Odimayo polled 1,464 votes, while Olumuyiwa Daramola secured 1,295 votes. Barr. Kehinde Ikuyiminu recorded 1,020 votes in the collated results.
In Okitipupa Local Government, Omosehin maintained a strong lead across several wards, while he also recorded impressive figures in Irele Local Government, giving him a clear advantage in the combined constituency results.
Political observers have linked his strong performance to the massive grassroots mobilization and strategic support received from two influential political structures in Ondo South — the Aseyori Political Movement and the Asejere Political Movement. The backing of both groups reportedly strengthened his acceptance across the constituency and contributed significantly to the outcome reflected in the collated figures.
The development makes Omosehin the only aspirant in the race backed by two major political movements within the constituency, a factor many party stakeholders believe played a decisive role in the primary election.
Despite the circulation of the collated ward results, party faithful and supporters are still awaiting the official confirmation and ratification from the APC National Working Committee in Abuja, which remains the constitutionally recognized authority to announce the final and certified outcome of the primary election.
Until the official declaration is made, supporters of Chief Dele Omosehin remain optimistic that the final announcement by the party leadership will affirm the outcome already reflected in the ward-by-ward results across Okitipupa and Irele Federal Constituency.
