Nestlé Nigeria Opens Applications for 2026/2027 Community Scholarship Programme

Nestlé Nigeria Plc has opened applications for its 2026/2027 Community Scholarship Programme, offering educational support to eligible students from its host communities as part of efforts to promote academic excellence and youth development.

The annual initiative, which was launched in 2020, is targeted at students pursuing Science and Technology-related studies and is designed to ease some of the financial pressures associated with education.

According to Nestlé Nigeria, the programme has supported more than 250 students since its inception, with beneficiaries receiving assistance towards tuition, books and other education-related expenses.

The company said the initiative is aimed at helping young people acquire the knowledge and skills required to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s future development.

Who Can Apply?

The 2026/2027 scholarship programme is open to eligible students from Agbara, Sagamu and Abaji.

For the Tertiary Education category, applicants must:

• Be current 100-level students;
• Be studying a Science or technical course; and
• Have obtained a minimum score of 200 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

For the Secondary Education category, applicants must:

• Be SS1 Science students; and
• Have obtained at least five credit passes in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Nestlé Nigeria said applications will be subjected to verification involving relevant educational institutions, community unions and community leaders as part of efforts to ensure a fair and transparent selection process.

Applications Close August 28

Eligible students have been advised to complete their applications carefully and provide all required information.

The application window closes on August 28, 2026.

Prospective applicants should use the official Nestlé Nigeria scholarship application portal and verify that they meet the eligibility requirements before submitting their applications.

Nestlé’s previous scholarship programme has similarly focused on students from its host communities, including Abaji, Agbara and Sagamu, with the company providing financial support to students pursuing Science and Technology education.

Scholarship Beneficiary Credits Programme for First Class Achievement

Among the beneficiaries highlighted by Nestlé Nigeria is Kazeem Fatai, a recent graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), who obtained a First Class Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Fatai attributed part of his academic achievement to the continued support he received through the scholarship programme.

He said the scholarship represented more than financial assistance, describing it as a vote of confidence that motivated him to remain focused on his academic goal.

According to him, the support helped him stay committed to his ambition of graduating with First Class honours and inspired him to encourage other young people to remain focused and take advantage of available opportunities.

More Than 70% of Tracked Beneficiaries Maintaining First Class

Nestlé Nigeria said the academic performance of beneficiaries has demonstrated the impact of the initiative, noting that more than 70 per cent of tracked students are currently maintaining or have graduated with First Class honours.

The company said the result underscores the importance of providing students with the resources and opportunity to concentrate on their education.

Speaking on the programme, Victoria Uwadoka, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainability Lead, Nestlé Nigeria, said the initiative reflects the company’s belief that business development and the progress of host communities should advance together.

Uwadoka said Nestlé’s Community Scholarship Programme provides young people with access to educational opportunities while contributing to the development of future skills needed for Nigeria’s growth.

She added that the scholarship programme is part of Nestlé for Good, the company’s broader commitment to creating shared value through initiatives focused on education, skills development, nutrition education and youth empowerment.

The continuation of the scholarship programme comes as educational costs continue to place financial pressure on families, making scholarship opportunities particularly important for students seeking to pursue Science and Technology-related careers.

For eligible students in Agbara, Sagamu and Abaji, the 2026/2027 programme provides an opportunity to obtain financial assistance while pursuing their academic ambitions.

Interested applicants are therefore encouraged to confirm their eligibility, complete the application process and submit their applications before the August 28, 2026 deadline.
