POLICE ARREST FAKE MILITARY PERSONNEL, RECOVER MILITARY UNIFORM IN DELTA

Operative of the Delta State Police Command has arrest suspected armed robbers and recover three (3) locally made guns, one live cartridge, concealed in a bag of rice.

 

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Command’s Spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe stated that, “On the 12/03/2023 at about 0900hrs, operatives of Eagle-Net Special Squad, while on intensive Aberdeen system of patrol, sighted a tricycle with reg. no. RRU 773 QK conveying three male occupants. They were intercepted and subjected to a search during which a bag containing rice was thoroughly searched, and three (3) locally made guns, one live cartridge, concealed in the bag of rice were recovered.”

 

 

According to the statement, “Two of the suspects took to their heels and escaped into the bush, abandoning the tricycle, and the rider named Ahmed Umaru “m” 26yrs of Ayingba LGA Kogi state. The tricycle rider was arrested, and the exhibit recovered. Efforts to arrest the fleeing suspects are ongoing.”

 

“The Command received information about a syndicate in Asaba planning to cause mayhem in the state, disguised as military personnel to deceive their unsuspecting victims. The commissioner of Police Delta State Command CP Ari Muhammed Ali, FCIA, psc+ detailed a combined team from the department of operations “COBRA 11″ comprising of operatives from response squad, Raiders Squad, and operations department. They embarked on an intelligence led operation on 12/03/2023, at about 0630hrs, the team stormed their hide out around Okwe Axis Asaba in Oshimili South LGA arrested the following suspects; Mike Okon ‘m’ 27yrs and Wilson Sunday ‘m’ 24yrs both from Cross-River state. When search was conducted on them, army camouflage uniform, a pair of black jungle boot were recovered from Mike Okon, while three (3) green Berets, one(1) black berets were recovered from Wilson Sunday. Investigation is ongoing.”
