POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS , NOTORIOUS ARMED ROBBERS IN DELTA• RECOVERS GUN

The Delta State Police Command has recorded another feat in the fight against criminality, kidnapping and armed robbery in the state.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) by the Command’s Spokesperson, DSP Edafe Bright stated that, “On the 22nd of January 2022, at about 2130hrs, a kidnapped victim (name withheld) of Uvwiana Road, Agbarha, reported that he was kidnapped along Esiso Street in Agbarho.”

According to Edafe, “The victim further stated that in the process of transferring him to another vehicle, he escaped from his abductors.” Consequently, on the 23rd of January 2022, at about 0930hrs, the victim spotted one of the hoodlums and he immediately alerted the DPO Agbarho Division CSP Samuel Ogwa, who swiftly mobilized and led police operatives to the area where the suspect, named Godstime Rufus “M”, age 22 yrs of Esiso Street, Agbarho, was arrested. Upon further interrogation and investigation, the suspect led operatives to their hideout where two other suspects, namely, Stanley Efeme “M” aged 21 years of NEPA Line and Davidson Esiso “M” aged 35 years of No. 25 Osah Street Agbarho, were arrested and they were all identified by the victim. An investigation is ongoing.

 

In the year 2021, on March 5th to be precise, a case of armed robbery was reported at Oleh Division. One man (name withheld), aged 33 years, was shot and his Qlink motorcycle was snatched from him by suspected armed robbers between Olomoro and Ehwne Communities in Isoko South LGA. An investigation was then initiated and the victim was taken to Olomro General Hospital, where he was treated and discharged. Unluckily for them, on January 23, 2022, the victim spotted one of the hoodlums around Sagbama, Bayelsa State, and he immediately alerted the command.

 

The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, FCIA, psc(+), directed that operatives from Oleh Division proceed to Bayelsa State for a discreet investigation with a view to arresting the suspects. Upon an intelligence led investigation, one George Akporie “m” age 25yrs, Prosper Asaeta “m” age 29yrs and Eziekel Stephen “m” age 23yrs, all of Igbide Community, Oleh were arrested at Sagbama in Bayelsa State. One locally made gun was recovered from the suspects, and they will be charged in court upon completion of the investigation.
