Lagos State Public Procurement Agency Holds 2026 Stakeholders Forum : Charges Stakeholders To Comply With Procurement Guidelines To Embrace Innovation

The Stakeholders and all Service Providers have been charged to discourage the practices that undermine public trust and to collectively uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and service delivery, and comply fully with procurement guidelines to embrace innovation.

This was disclosed on Wednesday, during the Year 2026 Stakeholders Forum of the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency, held at the Watercress Hotel Ikeja Lagos.

Speaking at the Forum, the Head of Service of the Lagos State Public Service Office, Mr. Bode Agoro represented by Mr. Abdulrafiu Oluwole Fashola who welcome everyone to the salient event of accountability, and excellent in public procurement to improving procurement process in Lagos State.

He said the future of Lagos depends greatly on the strength of the foundations we lay today, that a prosperous Lagos cannot be built on weak systems, poor service delivery or compromised standards.

Therefore, he urged the Stakeholders to do away with delay project execution or compromised quality standards.

He stated further, that Lagos State has continued to stand as a model of innovation for Lagosians and Service Providers are partners in this policy.

He urged service providers to build capacity that will positively impact on the life of Lagosians, and to remain committed to delivering quality services to better the peoples’ lives, also work incollaboration that will achieve global best practices.

In his address, the Director General of Public Procurement Agency, Mr. Fatai Idowu Onafowote expressed his delight to welcome everyone to the Stakeholder’s Forum, noted that Lagos has been known as investment destination for Africa.

According to the Director General, the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency has brought Stakeholders together for a progressive sensitization, and to encourage them to network interactively in order to allow them to understand the ongoing develooment in the State and to get the right feedback from the general questions.

Also, for them to share their experiences on how we can improve on processes that generally affect them and to impact the lives of the people of Lagos State

Saying further, that every effort of Lagos is to give Stakeholders platform, to continue to do business seamlessly in the State.

That the Public Procurement is to engage everyone and ensure that it continue the view and provide the score card and share innovative ideas and experience together in order to move the state forward.

In his address with Cfame News Correspondent, he said that the call for action which every stakeholders read together, that the same speaks an understanding that all of us are living in a world where we are digitalizing everything to make life easy for everybody.

However, Onafowote Fatai Idowu thereby encouraged Competition, due deligent and transparency among the Stakeholders.

Saying this is within a digitalized system and it helps us not to be left out in the scheme of things. Because the entire world is thinking about Artificial intelligence and Digitalization.

But Lagos State has embraced Technology process to achieve the best, and thereby encouraged other Stakeholders who do business with us in Lagos State to understand the direction the Lagos State is going in order to ensure that nobody is left behind.

Also, Lagosians must know and understand that the government is about good governance, protection of life and properties to the extent that they also will follow its given direction and must not be left out in terms of the due process, promoting competition, as well as the transparency.

The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Health Insurance Management Authority, (LASHMA), Dr. Emmanuel Asamba, represented by Lanre Grey said, the team has been working to ensure that everyone register for good healthcare in Lagos State, thereby enjoined everyone to enrol for LASHMA Health services. He called on the Lagos Civil Servants, and everyone who is interested to change their wives and husbands to come to the office with their good reasons.

Also, he encouraged the Pregnant women to give the office the notice of pregnancy after 3 months for the further healthcare and maternity care.

Again, the Chairman House Committee on Lagos State Procurement Agency, Hon. Olufemi Apata said in his goodwill message, that the Lawmakers commend the Procurement Agency, For consistent efforts and collaboration with stakeholders.

He encouraged them to remain committed to fruitful recovery, and wished them a successful deliberation.

Head Contractor Registration, Ms. Sanwo Adeola encouraged Service Providers to carefully explore the Agency website during registeration, and present every question to the platform in 24 hours, and present their certificates in 48 hours, also always pay Tax and include their State and Area of Residence and to ensure that they design a company profile on their Curriculum Vitae at every registration with the awaiting results.

Mr Akintayo Ogundare spoke about the Procurement Excellence as a Catalyst able for sustaining develooment in Lagos State.

He urged every contractor to get his document ready for any procurement excellence, with fearless packaging to apply for any given project in the State. And everything done by you will improve your future submission.

Also, you must be a registered contractor in Lagos State to submit a bid.

With A Theme: Solid Foundations: Service Providers as the Bedrock of a Prosperous Lagos, then listed being achieving procurement excellence and that everybody should be able to compete.

One of the Contractors at the event, the CEO of Igneous Technology Nigeria Limited, Comrade Adewale Aladesalo comnended the Lagos State Government for giving the Stakeholders an opportunity to dialogue through its given platform and share their experiences that will encourage all to have a meaningful impact and achieving adequate development in Lagos State.

He submitted that if this opportunity is not given to Stakeholders who were at the forum then they will just continue to make errors and blonders in the procurement services. That this forum is best for further and general improvement.

While he appealed to the Procurement Agency to indicate on the Website where a particular Job or Profession of a Consultant can be applied so as to avoid errors and blonder in the registration.
