Valentine Buraimoh is Selectively Witch Hunting Omogeye’s Supporters – Amb. Kingsley

The Media and Strategic Communication Bureau, Omo Geye Campaign Organization, on Thursday, November 24, 2022, accused Hon. Valentine Buraimoh, the Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area, of witch hunting their supporters.

It was reported that the chairman’s actions “aimed at intimidating members of the All Progressives Congress who have resigned their support for the party and thrown their weight behind Omo Geye of the Labour Party.”

Amb. Kingsley Enwelim Nwanze, Director Media and Strategic Communication Bureau, Omo Geye Campaign Organization, wrote in his press release, “We are compelled by available facts that Mr. Valentine Buraimoh, the Executive Chairman, has perfected plans to start witch-hunting supporters of Otunba George Olawande Adegeye (Omo Geye), the Labour Party Candidate for the Federal House of Representatives seat in Amuwo Odofin.”

Oluwayomi Odunuga is the first casualty of his well orchestrated plan to witch-hunt supporters of Omo Geye. We have been reliably informed by the victim that Valentine Buraimoh instructed his Supervisor for Environment, Gbenga Akinbinu, to close his car wash facility located between 23 and 24 Roads. It’s rather unfortunate that the Executive Chairman is heating up the polity unnecessarily through his jaundiced actions aimed at intimidating members of the All Progressives Congress who have resigned their support for the party and throw their weight behind Omo Geye.

It is true that Gbenga Akinbinu, the current supervisor for environment, got the local government council franchise for siting Car Wash Facilities within the local government area since 2017. So most of the car wash facilities within Festac Town and other parts of the local government area that have now turned out to be unbearable environmental disasters were approved by him with the approval of Valentine Buraimoh.

It is also true that Yomi Odunuga’s car wash facility and all his equipment were carted away after Valentine Buraimoh called and scolded him for supporting Otunba George Olawande Adegeye, the Labour Party candidate for the Federal House of Representatives seat in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.

We are alerting the public that this is an obvious sign that Valentine Buraimoh wants to heat up the peaceful constituency by using his office to intimidate, harass, and molest supporters of Otunba George Olawande Adegeye (Omo Geye). If he does not recluse his action by ordering the immediate opening of the Odunuga’s Car Wash and returning all the equipment carted away, then we would not hesitate to call out our members for a three-day peaceful protest at the Local Government Council Secretariat.

We are also using this medium to alert the general public and security agencies that another attempt to intimidate, coerce, harass, or molest any of our supporters will be met with a well-calculated and stiff resistance through peaceful actions. We have put ourselves forward to serve the people and positively change the narratives of legislative representation in the Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.

The Executive Chairman has a lot of issues in his kitty to deal with, such as bad roads, unfriendly rates, insecurity, bad drainage, etc., rather than the infantile intimidation of Omo Geye’s supporters. We want to reiterate that another attempt to harass or intimidate any of our supporters will be met with responsive actions.

The security agencies should also hold Valentine Buraimoh, the Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Council, wholly responsible for any crisis resulting from the buildup to the forthcoming 2023 general elections because his actions against Omo Geye’s supporters will heat up the polity.

We are not competing with anyone but rather serving the good people of Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency conscientiously.
