CP Tijani Visits Army, Air Force, Navy Formations in Lagos, Reaffirms Inter-Agency Security Collaboration

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthened inter-agency collaboration following a series of strategic visits to key Armed Forces formations in Lagos.
The visits, which took place on Wednesday, covered the 9 Brigade, Nigerian Army; 651 Base Service Group Headquarters of the Nigerian Air Force; and the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Beecroft, Apapa, and were aimed at deepening synergy and enhancing coordinated security operations across the state.
At the 9 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Lagbaja Cantonment, Ikeja, CP Tijani was received by the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Ayokunle Owolabi, where discussions focused on reinforcing the longstanding partnership in internal security operations and sustaining joint efforts to ensure the safety of residents.
Similarly, at the 651 Base Service Group Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, Sam Ethnan Air Force Base, Ikeja, the Commissioner of Police and his delegation were received by the Commanding Officer, Air Commodore M. A. Imam. Both parties deliberated on strengthening professional collaboration, intelligence sharing, and operational coordination to address evolving security challenges.
At the Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft, Apapa, CP Tijani met with the Commander, Commodore Aiwuyor Adams-Aliu, where discussions centred on enhancing security along Lagos waterways and improving structured operational alignment, particularly in multi-agency engagements.
During the engagements, CP Tijani emphasised that effective policing in a complex and strategic state like Lagos requires seamless cooperation among all security agencies.
“Effective security management in Lagos depends on strong collaboration among law enforcement and military agencies. We must continue to operate in unity, guided by mutual respect and a shared commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and critical national assets,” he stated.
The Commissioner of Police commended the consistent support from the Armed Forces formations in Lagos, noting that such partnerships are essential in combating crime, maintaining law and order, and proactively responding to emerging threats.
He reaffirmed the Lagos State Police Command’s dedication to strengthening partnerships with all relevant stakeholders to ensure sustained peace, enhanced public safety, and a secure environment for socio-economic development.
The Command reiterated its resolve to continue working closely with sister security agencies in fulfilling its mandate of protecting lives and property across the state.
