As the 2027 general elections draw closer, the people of Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II have every reason to stand firmly behind a representative who has demonstrated uncommon commitment, capacity, and performance.

Hon. Barr. Okey-Joe Onuakalusi has, within three and a half years in the House of Representatives, delivered a level of representation that many residents describe as unprecedented in the history of the constituency. Infrastructure and Electrification

Understanding the importance of security and economic activity, Hon. Okey-Joe facilitated the installation of over 300 solar-powered street lights across communities in Ago-Okota, Ejigbo, Okota, Oka-Afa, Bucknor, Ilasamaja, Ajao Estate, Canal Estate, Park View, and several other locations within the constituency.

He also facilitated:

  • Donation of a 300KVA transformer to Segun Awolowo Community, Ejigbo.
  • Donation of a 500KVA transformer to Ajoke Okusanya Community, Okota.
  • Upgrade of the Itire Transmission Station from 30MVA to 60MVA.
  • Rehabilitation of the Amusu Street Community Hall, Ilasamaja.
  • Drainage assessments and interventions in Isolo, Okota, and Ejigbo.

    Road Construction and Rehabilitation

Through collaboration with relevant agencies, Hon. Okey-Joe facilitated the rehabilitation and repair of several roads, including:

  • Falana Street
  • Kogberegbe Street
  • Akinbaiya Street
  • Ehingbeti Spur Street
  • Olu Ajulo/Okeho Street
  • Abimbola Street
  • Cowbell Road
  • Kamoru Adeyemi Street

He also played a significant role in the rehabilitation and completion of the Ejigbo-Isolo-Mushin Road and facilitated road repairs on Ago Palace Way through FERMA.

To improve access to clean and safe water, solar-powered boreholes were provided in:

  • Taiwo Street, Ago
  • Padana Street, Isolo
  • Ansar-Udeen Street, Ejigbo
  • Oba Ejigbo Palace
  • Amusu Street, Ilasamaja
  • Agbeke Street, Okota

    Education Development

Recognizing education as the foundation of societal growth, Hon. Okey-Joe facilitated:

  • Distribution of desks, books, and educational materials to schools.
  • Registration of 300 free JAMB forms for students.
  • Construction of a 2-classroom block with teachers’ office at Gbeleyi Primary School, Ishagatedo.
  • Construction of a 6-classroom block at Okota Grammar School, now ready for commissioning.
  • Children’s Day support and gifts to schools across the constituency.

    Healthcare Initiatives

Hon. Okey-Joe has consistently brought healthcare closer to the people through:

  • 3-day Free Medical Outreach in Okota.
  • 3-day Free Medical Outreach in Ejigbo.
  • 2-day Free Eye Clinic at Ajao Estate.
  • 2-day Free Eye Clinic at Ishagatedo, Ire-Akari Estate.

Thousands of residents benefited from free consultations, treatments, medications, and eye care services.

Human Capital Development

One of the hallmarks of his representation is investment in people.

His administration sponsored:

  • 25 beneficiaries for specialized training programmes in China and Taiwan covering Artificial Intelligence, Media, Finance, Investments, Malaria Elimination, and other strategic sectors.
  • 9 beneficiaries for Nursing and Diabetic Care training in South Africa.
  • Additional participants for agricultural and professional development programmes abroad.

These opportunities have equipped constituents with global knowledge and employable skills.

Empowerment Programmes

Hon. Okey-Joe has directly impacted hundreds of households through empowerment initiatives, including:

  • Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition Programmes.
  • Distribution of sewing machines and grinding machines to over 120 households.
  • Training and startup support for 100 households in fish farming.
  • Computer training with startup support and certification for 50 beneficiaries.
  • N50,000 business grants to 200 traders and entrepreneurs.

    Food Security and Agricultural Support

To cushion economic challenges and encourage food production, he facilitated:

  • Food palliative distribution across communities.
  • Fertilizer distribution to farmers.
  • Agricultural seminars on crop cultivation and modern farming techniques.

    Youth, Sports and Talent Development

Believing in the potential of young people, Hon. Okey-Joe organized:

  • Grassroots Sports Championship competitions.
  • Talent Hunt Programmes with cash prizes and opportunities for young talents.
