A DAY FOR FALEKE:
GOOD GOVERNANCE BENEFICIARIES IN IKEJA CONSTITUENCY PROMISE FALEKE 100,000 VOTES

By Abayomi Elias

… Justify reasons why they will vote him again and again

As the February 25th election draws closer, beneficiaries of the giant strides of Honourable James Abiodun Faleke in Ikeja Federal Constituency gave accounts of his stewardship at a program tagged ‘A Day For Faleke’ to justify their reasons for voting him for the 4th as a lawmaker in Federal House of Representatives.

One of the stakeholders at the event opined that considering the good work Faleke has done to not just politicians but all and sundry, the people of Ikeja are ready to vote for him even another 10th term.

The Convener Abiodun Shoneye, who reportedly used his resources to organise the program reeled out the giant strides of Honourable Fake and the enthusiasm of participants to canvass 100, 000 votes for him.

In his words, he said;

“Honourable Faleke empowered unemployed young people with a mini bus called Korope. He created jobs for them and at the same time make means of transportation easy for people who are commuters in his constituency.

“For many of the youth he gave this support to are now living with members of their family. Many of them are now able to afford good education for their children and family, they are also able to employ other people and also invest to make life better for themselves.

“Honourable James Faleke is not here but you can see the love the people had shown by coming out enmasse. This to me is no eye service thing, everyone loves him and not that they will just come out and vote alone.

“They are coming as footsoldiers, to canvass for him. A minimum of 10 votes per person. Today we have over a thousand people gathered here.

“Honourable Faleke is guaranteed well over a hundred thousand votes coming during the general election, 25th of February. Shoneye said.

APC party Chairman Ojodu LCDA, Alhaja Stella Olushola Kokumo in an interview with our Newsconnect reporter at the event said The way Faleke operates among his people make his him so unique.

“You can’t cry to him and come back with that cry. No, he will wipe away your tears. He knows how to deal with people. He is living with us. He has been living with us before he gets the power and after voting him, he is still living with us.

“You can knock Honourable Faleke’s door at anytime and he will open for you. It is Faleke that informed us with his actions that a lawmaker can also wipe away our tears other than making laws.

“He is a God sent. He has been doing a lot for Ikeja Federal Constituency. You can see see how the people had been testifying to what he has been doing. We can even vote for him for the 10th term. Ikeja people are ready to vote for Faleke.

For those that are yet to benefit from his largesse and good governance, Kokumo said.

“Politics is turn by turn. If it doesn’t reach you today, it will reach you tomorrow. I want you to know that Hon. Faleke doesn’t just give to politicians, he is given to all those that are voting for for us. He is giving to voters and everybody. If it hasn’t reached you now, it will get to you later”. She asserted.

A member of Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) in the South West Public affairs unit Zigi Ibe, who spoke to news men at the event said

“PVC is the only tool and the strongest visa into voting someone into office. If you love anyone or you love any leader and love his leadership, get your PVC. That is the only tool you have.

“That is the only strong statement you can make such that all will not amount to making noise. If you love Faleke, go get your PVC. If you love Asiwaju and other candidates of APC, PVC is the only tool you have.

“Without PVC you can only agitate, talk but the only power you have is to get your PVC. As we speak, PVC is still on display in so many areas and locations , make sure you locate their and get your PVC”. Ibe said.

Elder Matthew Adesanya aka Baba Maos Apex leader, Ojodu reminded the gathering about how Faleke’s journey to house of representatives began 21 years ago.

“I want to remind us that we were here 21 years ago. I was convinced that he is capable of doing it. Before he went to the National Assembly, we had other nominees who served just for one term and we have their records.

“We are satisfied with Faleke’s performance and he is still doing well. I want to appeal to everybody to be ready for more work towards election. This is not the time to disagree, this is a time to work hard.” Elder Mathew said.

A Senior Legislative Aide to the speaker Honourable Wale Ajala said nobody is the right hand man to Faleke, all his staunch fans all have stakes in his leadership. The man has performed wonderfully well, there is nothing to say again.

Comrade Onifade, APC Party Chairman Emeritus, Onigbongbo asked the participants how they can compensate Hon. Faleke. In his words he said,

“If you love this party and Faleke, identify those who have PVC and mobilise them. Asiwaju has created a lot. The LCDA we are in today was created by Asiwaju. I want you people to do more than agents and canvassers, people are observing you. When the benefits of the party come, people are observing you”. He said.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke and showcased what they benefitted from include Musa Abdul Fatai from Ward A. (A fashion designer benefitted from an industrial sewing machine). Honourable Oluwafunmilayo Ayoola (Korope Ward B, Onigbongbo) Ayandare Thomas, Ward C Ojodu, Nicholas Ibok (From Ward E Ojodu LCDA et Al.

Honourable Yomi Balogun in his remarks said

He has done so much.

“As a council chairman we know what he did. We sent him and he was returned for the 2nd term. This is not our making, but is it the grace of God.

“I want to thank Bolaji Shoneye for bringing all of us together. Let us be orderly on election and see ourselves as am ambassadors on election Day.
