Kogi Guber: Ododo Reaffirms Loyalty To APC Amid Defection Rumours
By People’s Voice Nigeria | News
The Kogi State Government on Saturday dismissed the purported news reports suggesting that the state Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo is planning to dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Debunking the purported reports in a press statement issued by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, the state government described the reports as falsehoods aimed at causing confusion and distrust in the state.
According to the statement, the rumours reportedly stemmed from an image circulating on social media, taken at the wedding of the Taraba State Governor’s daughter, which Governor Ododo attended alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima and other dignitaries across party lines.
Fanwo clarified that Governor Ododo was merely honouring a colleague and had no intention of defecting to any other party aside the ruling APC.
He highlighted that Ododo recently celebrated a victory at the Supreme Court with the support of the APC and dismissed any suggestion of him abandoning the party as “unintelligent.”
He reassured the public that Governor Ododo remains committed to the party’s success both in Kogi State and nationally.
The Kogi State Government also called on journalists to uphold their professional responsibility and avoid propagating misinformation.
The state government, however, urged the media to seek out accurate and verified information to maintain public trust.
