Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic building collapse that occurred on Saturday morning at Equal Rights Restaurants and Bars in the Ojodu Local Council Development Area, which has claimed the lives of seven individuals and left several others injured or trapped.
“This is a heartbreaking incident that has thrown our community into mourning. My thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost loved ones, and I extend my heartfelt condolences to them during this incredibly painful time,” Hon. Faleke said.
He commended the tireless efforts of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and other first responders who have been working round the clock to rescue those still trapped. He also called for the continued intensification of rescue efforts to ensure no one is left behind.
As the Ojodu community grapples with this tragedy, Hon. Faleke urges all residents and the wider Lagos State community to unite in prayer—for the peaceful repose of the departed souls and for the swift and full recovery of the injured who are receiving treatment.
“This is a moment for compassion, unity, and support. Let us come together as a community to extend comfort to the bereaved and strength to the survivors,” he added.
